It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce promotion to glory of Mama Joyce Okello Oguna on 3rd August 2018.

Loving wife of the late Paul Oguna Osuma of Masumbi sub Location, Alego — Siaya. Daughter of the late Onyango Oyoo and the late Mama Ouda Adhiambo of Yimbo Kachwiji. Loving mother of Colonel Cyrus Oguna of KDF, Rose Akech, Mary Aoko, Dorcas Anyango and Jael Atieno. Sister of the late Grace Were, the late Keziah Arwa and the late Washington Ogola. Sister-in-law of the late Christina Ondiek, Grace Ayugi and Philister Adhiambo. Mother-in-law of Carol Mutesi Oguna, Jane Ohuma, Francisca Osuma, Julian Omondi, Grace, Christine, Nyagombe, among others.

Loving auntie of Richard Were, Alice Odongo, Benter Were, Sellah Were, Wilkister Were, John Odera, and Boaz Were of Gem Yala. Other children included Selline Oguna, Margaret Ajwang, the late Richard Ohuma, the late mwalimu John Osuma, John Odaro, Monica Akinyi, Okech, Aggrey, Atieno, Owino among others. Mama Joyce was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren —Ruby, Malaika, Emily Kigogo, Lilly, Celestine, Msee, Elvis, Joan, Nyaboss, Lilian, Winnie, Elsie, Pett, Peter, Kevin, Jude, Richard, Liz, Paul, Boss, Daddy, Juliana, among others.

Family and friends are meeting at Highlands Platinum near Kenya Cinema Nairobi CBD (former Florida 2000) from 5pm daily for prayers and funeral arrangements. Meetings are also taking place at her home in Kosuma, Pap Nyadiel village.

There will be a major fundraising at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi on Tuesday August 14, 2018 starting at 5pm. A second fundraising will be held at Kosuma Pap Nyadiel on Wednesday August 15, 2018 starting at 10am.

The cortege leaves Siaya County Hospital mortuary on Friday August 17,2018 at 8.00am for the funeral service at her local Church in Kirindo.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday August 18, 2018 at her home in Kosuma, Pap Nyadiel — Masumbi Village.

A jewel has been taken away from us. Nya-Onyango, your legacy will live forever.
