It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that the family of the late Barnaba Olwichi Agina (Sihonga, Got Regea, North Gem Siaya) announces the demise of his wife, Mama Peres Ateng Agina, who rested on 20th April, 2023.
Daughter to the late Babu Luka Oduol Oyoo and the late Dani Loisi Okwiri of UkayaVillage, North Gem. Sister to John Robert Alando, Manoah Ojwang, W.F.F Sibondo, B.F.F. Oluande K’Oduol, Joash Otuoma, Elly Odero, Daniel Orieyo, Odhuno, Francis Odaga, Lorna Ayuko, Omulo, Nehemiah Oyoo, Joseph Odera, Oyoo Oduge, and Boaz Okwara Otako (all deceased), Survived by Alice Adala Otuko and Dorcas Ochilo. Niece to Rasto Ateng Oyoo, Joshua Ochieng Oyoo, Eliah Otieno Oyoo, Michael Oduge Oyoo (all deceased).
Co-wife to the late Eunice Adede and Herina Ongule. Mother to Ojwang Agina, Israel Agina, James Munga (D), Elly Onganya Agina (D). Mother-in-law to Mereso Sane, Etheltruda Obunde, Elizabeth Obunde (D), Phoebe Omoro (D).
Step-mother to the late Ruwel Juma Agina, Sylvester Musa Agina, Bernard Njoo Ouma Agina, Peter Olwitchi Agina (D), Jane Adhiambo Rading, Monica Ngessa Ogada, Caleb Olale Agina (D), Mary Achieng (D) and Reuben Otieno Agina.
Aunty to Dr Ida Odinga, Prof SBO Ojwang, Dr Rachel Monyoncho, among many.
Grandmother to Senteu, Salvador, Julian, Che-Guevara, Mosa, Sane, Victor, Loice, Kezia, Aby, Olwichi, Oki, Ezekiel, Elizabeth, Franklin,Peres and the late Nahashon. Also grandmother to Uhuru, Achieng, Adede, Were, Eunice,Abundu, Ouma, Odhiambo, Samuel, Otieno, Samuel, Grace, Olwichi, Nereah, Joseph, Mummy, Dogo,Abubakar and Penina. Great-grandmother to many.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary on 5th May, 2023 for Sihonga Village, Got Regea, Gem – Siaya County. The burial service will be held on 7th May, 2023 at her home in Sihonga Village, Got Regea North Gem Siaya.

You were a disciplinarian,teacher,farmer,hard worker among many.
You ensured me and my siblings got the rightful education. Anyone who followed your teachings to the latter is a success and a true reflection of your values.
I can’t forget how life was when we used to walk to kodiaga market until one day the unthinkable happened… it’s been God. The journey has been long and God had a reason to keep you with us all these while.
U were the family button that held us together,I hop we get another one like you amongst us to keep ur legacy.
