It is with deep appreciation to the Almighty and humble acceptance of His will that we announce the eternal resting of our great matriarch Mama Rosemary Kaguri Rutere. Mama Rosemary passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10th 2022 in Nairobi.

She was a great servant of God and an elder at MCK St Mathews Church in Buuri, Meru County. She had fully served God’s purpose in her generation before God called her home at the prime age of 80 years.

Rosemary was the daughter of the late Wilson M’Rimbere and the late Margaret Gaiti M’Rimbere and step-daughter to the late Maritha Kanyai M’Rimbere.

She was the adorable and loving wife to the late Erastus Phares Rutere (OGW), loving mother to Raphael Rutere (USA), Anne Rutere (KRA), Agnes Mwenda (KCB), Alice Kaminju (USA), John Rutere (USA), James Rutere (Chuka University) and Jackson Rutere (Meru). Mother-in-law to Rose Rutere, Jaspher Mwenda, Timothy Kaminju, Miriam Rutere, Margaret Muthoni and Zamzam Kendi Rutere.

Sister to the late Solomon & Emily Murugu, the late Janerose Kithira & the late Alex Murugu, Florence & Isaac Kinoti, the late Joseph Rimbere, the late Susan & the late Mbaya Mwongera, Kendi & Fredrick Rimbere, Salome & Muthee Marete, Josphine Mataria, Lucy & Charles Kathurima, Christine & Festus Mbaabu Rimbere.

Sister-in-law to Beatrice & the late Justus M`Mworia, the late Salome & Fredrick Kiragu, Margaret & the late Vitolio M’Inoti, Priscilla & Valentino Kirimi and Fredrick & Dorcas Rutere, Lilian Kabiti and Kathura, Roselyne Kathambi and Kariuki, Paul and Kanyua Muriungi, the late Ann Mwari, the late Nahashon Bundi and Rhoda Kendi. An aunty, cousin and grandmother and an Adopted Mother to many across the globe who she mentored and raised by paying their tuition, medical bills and providing them with food and shelter.

There will be a public viewing at Lee Funeral Home on Thursday, 17th November 2022 from 10.00am – 12.00pm followed by a memorial service at Lavington United Church in Nairobi from 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

The funeral service will take place at MCK St Mathew’s Church in Maili-Saba at 10:00am, Meru followed by the burial ceremony at the family’s BBC Farm on the Nanyuki-lsiolo Highway on Saturday, November 19th 2022.
