We celebrate the life and love of Mama Ruth Oyiera Ong’atta (formerly of the Ministry of Agriculture – Extension Officer Khwisero Subcounty and Bukura Institute of Agriculture) of Ebutayi Elukongo, Mundeku Sublocation, Kisa Central Location, Khwisero Subcounty, Kakamega County, after along brave fight with hypertension — that led to heart failure. Mama Ruth went to be with the Lord on Saturday 8th June, 2019.
Daughter of the late Cornelius Shivachi Sunguti and Mama Aplesi Emali. Daughter-in-law of the late Senior Chief Yohana Omurumba Nehondo and Mama Loice Alukwe. Beloved wife of the late Senior Headmaster Mwalimu Albert Ong’atta. Sister of the lace Beatrice Andunga, Florence Namayi, Phylice Asira, Roselyne Muluka, Apollo Sunguti, Judith Mango,Tom Indimuli, Margret Oloo, the late David Akhonya, the late Noel Osimbo, the late Rosa Okeno, Caroline Moi, the late Joseph Ongolo, Rosa Shibero, the late Paul Omurumba, Merina Moi and Patrick Ambani. Mother of Mwalimu Nom Angoya Ong’atta (Headmaster Bar Opuk School — Bondo), Dan Oyamo Ong’atta (Mabati Rolling Mills), Jairus Alubiri Ong’atta, John Brown Ong’atta (JB) Bros construction Ltd, Loice Ong’atta, Aplace Ong’atta, Eunice Ong’atta, Cornelius Ong’atta, Elizabeth Luchera and Joselyne Namiba.

The body will leave Coptic mortuary Maseno, on Thursday 27th June, for Church service at St. Emanuel Eshikhungula ACK Church the same day.
Final service and burial will be held at her home Ebutayi Elukongo (along Manyulia — Eshiatsala road) starting 10:00 am Saturday 29th June 2019.
