Mama Suslia Owenga Obel

It is with acceptance of God’s will that we announce the transition of Mama Suslia Owenga Obel who passed away on 4th May 2019.

Daughter of the late Ogola Oile and the late Mama Maria Akumu of Gem Ahono Marenyo. Wife of the late Mzee Walter Obel Awando (Gogo) of East Asembo Omia Diere-Wera. Mother of George Awando Obel, Mary Ngaura, Maurice Obel, the late Goretti Otumba, Charles Oyoo. Step children are Tobias Obondo, Meresia Riany and Margaret Oloo Aggrey Aluoch. Sister of Marcela Wera, Bernard Magoha, Julius Mbulo, Theodora Opundo, Yiembe Jobisa, Francisca Wadira, Leonard Masime, Martina Owira all deceased. Sister-in-law Wadeya, Gor, Nyawalo, Obondo, Okayo,Abuoro, Okoth, Chiaji and Many others. Mother-in-law of Millicent Awando, Prisca Obel, Mary Oyoo, Charles Ngaura, John Otumba, Martin Riany, Peter Oloo, Leokadia Aloo and many others. Loving ‘mama’ of several nieces and nephews among them John Obare, Prof George Magoha (CS Education), Andrew Oduol, Pauline Dola (County Commissioner Kisumu) and many others.

Fund raising will be held on Saturday 18/05/2019 at Tumaina house Nairobi 6th floor room 6C. Contributions for the funeral may be sent to MPESA 0729423908 or 0725713619 (Vivian Awando and George Obel) respectively.

The funeral procession will depart from Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on Friday 24th May 2019 at 12.00Noon and proceed to St Philip ACK Church Wera-East Asembo for prayers and then to her Matrimonial home in East Asembo Rarieda Sub-County-Siaya.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday 25th May 2019 from 10.00am.
