Mama Teresia Ogutu Onyango (Aterry)

1938 – 2023

It is with profound grief and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of sister in ChristTeresia Ogutu Onyango (Atterry), which occurred on January 15, 2023 in Siaya County.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Edward Onyango and daughter-in-law to the late Mathia Otipp Buoga and Winfred Oware of Kaugagi Hawinga Village. She was daughter to the late Raguma Ochanda and Sabina Ayugi of Mahola.

Mother to Willis Otieno, Esther Akello, Felgona Ouma, Chris Oduor, Morris Omondi, Godfrey Odongo (all deceased), Grace Auma, Beatrice Awino Odiwuor, Gordon Opiyo and Mike Owuor.

She was grandmother to Tabitha, Judy, Collins, Millicent, Diana, Brian, Marion, Steve, Tobias, Eddy, Sheryl, Terry, Christine, Joy, Baraka, Richard, Terry Atieno, Basil, Faith, Cynthia, Beatrice and great grandmother to many.

Sister to Brigita Auma (Nyapoto), Leonida Oyamo, Angelina Adero Raguma (all deceased), Joseph Otieno, Jackline Achieng, Caroline Adhiambo and Irene Awuor.

Mother-in-law to the late Edward Onywera, Fred Asino, Isaiah Odiwuor Okoto, the late Millicent Atieno, Caroline Nerima and Rosemary Auma.

She was also in-law to the late Mzee Philip Okoto, Mama Margaret Okoto (Karachuonyo), Daniel Magenge and Christine Megenge (Busia) among others.

The funeral service and burial will be held on Friday February 3, 2023 at her home in Hawinga Village, South West Alego, Siaya County.
