Mama Wilfrida Opapa Achieng

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mama Wilfrida Opapa Achieng which occurred on Sunday 30th July 2017 at Kendu Adventist Hospital (Gendia) after a long illness bravely borne.

Daughter of the late Mzee Mijude Ochieng and Mama Muga Nyar Ndeda of Rachuonyo North Sub-County, Kibiri ward, Siburi School. She was married to the late Mzee Joseph Achieng Ouma of Rangwe Sub-County East Kochia Location-Akado School. Mother of Bernedette Nyagara, Francis Jaji, the late Daniel Aremo, Samuel Ouma, the late John Chwanya, the late Linet Atieno, the late Pamela Adhiambo, the late Monica Auma, Eng. Michael Ngala of KeNHA and Tereza Akinyi (Mombasa). Other step sons and daughters are the late Joshua Oyugi, Elizabeth Ouma, Kezia Adhiambo, Agnes Omollo, Kerina Gwandho, Hunter Otieno and Jared Owino (H/T Akado School).

She was mother-in-law of Sulmena Aoko Jaji, Caren Anyango Aremo, Rael Adhiambo Ouma, Molline Ngala, Eunes Ndege, Stellah Mboya and Pamela Owino. She leaves behind her grandchildren namely Michael Oluoch (Kagan Kachieng), Insp. John Nyagara (Nairobi), Pamela Nyagara, Lawrence Nyagara (AP-Nyamira), Eunice Nyagara,Victor Nyagara (KDF), Edward Nyagara, Leonard Nyagara (Equity Bank), Peter Otieno (Kuria East), Fr. Samuel Mwai (Nyarongi Parish), Fredrick Onyango (Mwingi), Benard Olale, Lucas Ang’ila(Manga), Joseph Juma, Emmanuel, Paul Odongo (NYS), Daniel Aremo (Kisumu), Rose Akinyi (Homa Bay), Everline, Judith, Eunice (Migori ITC), Adhiambo, Catherine Awuor (Kisumu), Tiberius Omondi (Nairobi), Calisto Owino (JKUAT), Justine, Angela, Joseph, Aggrey, Elina, Mitchel, Daniel Gor, Seth, Stephen, Moses, Wycliffe, Hyrene, Ema, Duvela, Hellen, Erick (KU), Faith, Julius (Maranda), Lencer, Fred and 46 great grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Kendu Adventist Hospital (Gendia) mortuary on Thursday 3/8/2017. Burial will take place on Friday 4/8/2017 at her farm in Kochia East Location Kamenya Sub -Location, Akado School.
