She was the daughter the late Zakayo M’Arimunya and Tabitha Murango Zakayo. Wife to the late Festus Mucheke Sister to the late Edith Nkuene, the late Gilbert Kithinji, Alice Mugure, the late Charles Gitari.
Mother to Ann Mary Kagendo (Headteacher Ntani Primary School), Paul Mwiti Mucheke (Director Yetu Sacco) and advisor to Governor Meru County and Lucy Gatwiri Muthamia (business lady).
Mother-in-law to Samuel Mwenda (Sub County Admin lgoji Sub County), Mrs. Christine Karimi Mwiti (JKUAT) and Col (Rtd) Julius Minyori (Centre for Civilians in Conflict).
Grandma to Kevin Kimathi (NPS), Teddy Murithi (Student JKUAT), Evans Mwenda (business man), Lorna Nkatha (student JKUAT), Mark Munene (Kagumo High School), Liza Kendi, Dennis Mugambi (State Department Of Immigration), & Sean Mutuma (ORPP).
She was aunt to Ruth Mithika, Kagwiria Rimbere, Sarah Karani, Julia Muthuri, Muthoni Muthaura, Mwari Marete, the late Miriti and the late Gitonga Marete, the late Kaimuri Kamundi, Muthoni Kimbira, Nkirote Kithinji, Kagendo Kithinji, the late Edith Kithinji, Makena Kithinji, Muthoni Kithinji, Muthomi Kithinji, Mbwiria Kithinji, Grace Templin (USA), Kimathi Kinyamu (USA), Catherine Kawira (Australia), Joyce Kelvin (USA) Kabithiori Kinyamu, Gitonga Charles, Mugambi Charles, Nelly Gitari, Nicholas Gitari, Mwandiki Gitari, Wilfred Gitonga, and Eustace Miriti.
The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral home on Tuesday, 10th May, 2022 for Funeral service at PCEA Kiangua Parish Church, lgoji Sub County at 11am and thereafter she will be laid to rest at her home in Gakuini village, Kiangua.
