Marecella Mukami Kinyugo (Mama Maggie)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of Marecella Mukami Kinyugo on February 1st, 2019, at John Paul II Hospital, Nanyuki, after a long illness bravely borne.

She hailed from Kiruru Village, Kiri-aini Location, Mathioya Sub-County, Murang’a County and was a former Chairlady of the Church Women’s Association of Murang’a District.

Daughter of the late Joram Kamina and Esther Wangare, and sister of the late Martin Hadad Muraya, Salome Wanjiru, Samuel Wanyoko, Mary Wambui, and her only surviving sibling, Nathan Kanyiri Kamina of Seattle, USA. Married to Peter Kinyugo Macharia. Mother of Maggie Wanjiru. Mother-in-law of Sammy Maingi Wachira. Step-mother of Margaret Wanjiru, Zachary Wambugu, Anthony Macharia, Boniface Mbuthia and Carol Kinyugo of Inooro Tv. An auntie of many children. Co-wife of Teresa Muringi. Grandmother of Megan Wambui and Marecella Mukami.

Meetings and prayers are being held daily at her Kiruru residence. The cortege will leave Kiri-aini Mission Hospital at 9.00am on Friday, February 22nd for a Funeral Mass at Kiri-aini Catholic Church at 10.00am. Burial will be at her home thereafter.
