Maria Gatitu King’ori (Maria Joseph)

Maria Gatitu King’ori, known by most as Mama, was 102 years old. She went to be with the Lord on 25/05/2021 after a short illness at Meru Consolata Hospital. She is Godly, beautiful, industrious, gracious, forgiving, wise, brilliant, humorous, hardworking, fit and a dynamic leader.

We thank God for blessing our family with her for a long time. Mama is a great grandma survived by her children Dominic Ntongai, Elizabeth Thairaro Kariuki, Lucy Kinya Mugambi, Agnes Rigiri Baariu, Magdalene Kabuya King’ori, and Margaret Kaembe Mutuma; Daughters-in-law Mary Jupiter Ntongai & Peninah Kalayu Kubai and Sons-in-law Stephen Kariuki, Joshua Mugambi, Joshua Mutuma Murega along with their children, Gabriel Kubai’s, Martha Ncece’s, and Anne Kamathi’s children and extended kin. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph King’ori Twamwari; her children: Joan Nceki, Gabriel Kubai, Martha Ncece, and Anne Kamathi Kaume.

The cortege leaves Meru Funeral Home on Saturday 12th June, 2021 at 10.30a for a funeral service at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church Amatu-Kianjai 11.00am and burial thereafter at her Kianjai home. All Covid mandates will be strictly observed.

Mama’s legacy of faith in God, love, forgiveness, generosity, and hard-work will live on.
