1949 – 2019

The Nyang’aya family regret to announce the death of Mama Mary Anyango Nyang’aya on 6th October, 2019 after a short illness.

Daughter of the late Mzee Elisha Nyang’acha. Mama Loice Owiti, of Obingo, Agoro Nyakach. Devoted wife of the late Elijah Oguk Nyang’aya. Daughter in law of the late Mzee Isaac Nyang’aya and Mama Beldina Omollo. Loving mother of Robert and Julie, Caroline and Alois, Lilian, Allan and Christine, Dorothy and Leonard, Musa and Sarah.

Nyawana of Job and the late Dolphine Okech, the late Clement and Theresa Obare, Margaret and the late Engineer Odhiambo, the late Peter and Jane Kwelu, and Tom and Grace Ouso. Doting grandmother of Jadd Isaac, Hazel, George, Mich, Baraka, Maesha, Imani and Thando and great-grandmother of Amara. Sister of the late Benson Miyumo, Penina Nyang’aya, Elizabeth Ochieng’, the late James Omollo, the late Jared Ouma, Evelyne Anyango, the late Melchizedek Omollo, Joram Otieno, and Mary Dongo.

Sister-in-law of the late Musa Akuno, the late Samuel Abonyo, Nereah Okoth, Rose Leah Miguda, the late Eucabeth Atieno, Kezia Olonde and Steven Ojwang’. Sister-in-law of the late Dorcas Guya, Truphena Okello, the late Malaki Okoth, Were Miguda, the late Barack Olonde and Margaret Ojwang. Aunt of Dr. James Nyang’aya, Janet Aomo, Prof. Judith Attyang, Justus Nyang’aya, Linet Olonde, Grace Onyango and Elizabeth Omollo among others. Daughter-in-law of Truphena Omollo and the late Tertio Ocholla and the late Mariko Muga and Ada Apul.

A Prayer and fundraising meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15th October, 2019 from 5.30pm, at the All Saints Cathedral, to offset medical bills and funeral expenses.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday 17th October, 2019 at Nairobi Central SDA Church from 1.00pm.

Mama Mary Nyang’aya will be laid to rest at her home, in East Kojwach, Kabondo Kasipul on Monday 21st October, 2019.
