Mary Nyokabi Wanyoike (Mama Kendy)

It is with great sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely demise of Mrs Mary Nyokabi Wanyoike (Mama Kendy) of Thika Town which occurred on Monday, 16th January 2023, following a short illness.

Daughter of Late Reuben Githaiga and Rebecca Wachuka of Magutu, Nyeri County.

Beloved wife of Late Simon Wanyoike (Kihiu Mwiri), former Councillor Thika. Cherished mother of Wachuka (Late), Patrick Mwihia, Nancy Wairimu, Jacinta Wachuka, Josephine Wambui (UK), and Kennedy Githaiga. Mother in Law to Hannah Wambui Mwihia, Rev Mwaniki Wambogo and Jimmy Njaramba (UK).

Sister to Late John Ngaragari, Lorna Gikonyo, Late Harry Thuku, Charles Mwangi, Mercy Muito, Eliud Mithamo, Newton Njiiri, Johnson Muriuki, Michael Mutahi, Fraciah Thuguri, Lucy Chacha, Ephraim Karaya, Late Peter Wachuga and George Karigi. Sister-in-Law to Joseph Igecha,Wambui, and Kabui Kamau.

Aunt to Paul Githaiga of Thika among many others. Grandmother to Mary, Tracey, Ian, Rashon, Imara, among others, and Great-Grandmother to Kimathi, Kariuki and others.

Funeral and burial arrangements are ongoing at her home in Starehe, Thika town.

The cortege leaves Montezuma and Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati on Tuesday, 24th January 2023 for a Church service at P.C.E.A Elijah Kagiri, Thika, at 10.00am to be followed by burial at her farm in Kangangu, Mitumbiri, Kabati/Kenol.
