It is with humble acceptance of, God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mary Wanjiku Gatimu.

Daughter of the late Nelson. Karenge Gitaka and late Serah Njoki Karenge. Wife of the late Wilfred Gatimu Githaiga (Maisha). Co-wife of Mary Wombi Gatimu. Loving mother of Simon Githaiga Gatimu, Ruth Wambui Gathu, Lawrence Karenge, Mary Kimani (Njoki), Charles Njenga Gatimu (ZEP-RE), among others. Step-sister of Chege Karenge, Wangari Karenge among others. Mother-in-law of Joseph Gathu, Gitau(Mataara), Prof. B.K Njoroge (Nairobi University), Paul Gitee Nyamu (Headteacher Mukuyu-ini Pri Sch) among others. Grandmother of Mary Wanjiku Githaiga, Caroline Wanjiku Wanjiru, Eng. Wilfred Gatimu Wanjiru, Paul Njoroge Kimani, Joyce Wanjiku Kiarie, Stephen Ndegwa Ng’ang’a, Wilfred Gatimu Nduta among others. Great grandmother of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home Kanjuku Village from 3:00pm and Homeland Restaurant along Thika Road from 6:00 pm. The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral home on Saturday 16th September 2017 at 8:00am for burial and funeral service at her home in Kanjuku Village, a few metres past ACK Church ltitu, Gatundu North Constituency, Kiambu County at 12:00 noon on the same day.
