It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mr. Mathew Maingi Kiio (a.k.a. Cafenol), which occurred at the Kenyatta National Hospital on Tuesday, 14th March, 2023 after an illness bravely borne.

Son of the late Mr. Tilus Kiio and the late Milkah Kiio. Son-in-law to the late Mr & Mrs Lazarus Mavuti.

Loving husband to Phoebe Ndinda Maingi. Caring father to Robert Muthama,Vincent Muli, the late Japheth Kiio, Peninah Mukonyo, Shadrack Muinde and Stephen Nguthi. Father in-law to Judy, Eunice and Mary. Grandfather to Evans, Wema, Kevin, Marks, Happy, Ephy, Ethan, Joel and Jeff.

Brother to the late Thomas, the late Kalekye, the late Mueni, the late Syokau, Kavete, the late Annah, the late Esther, Katulu, Rose, Real, Janet and Evanson. Nephew to the late Hon. Paul Ngei, the late Grace, the late Munguti, the late Ndolo, and the late Ndavi, among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Kwakathule Village, Kakuyuni Location, Kangundo Sub-county, Machakos County.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home in Machakos at 8.00am on Saturday, 25th March, 2023 for a funeral service at Kwakathule Primary School grounds. Thereafter, the internment will be held at his home in Kwakathule Village.
