It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Mechtilde Nasimiyu Musula which occurred on Saturday 28th April 2018 at the Kikuyu Hospital. Mechtilde hails from Bukembe village of Bungoma County. She is a long serving civil servant who worked in the ministries of Culture and Social Services, the National Treasury and finally the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kenya’s High Commission in Nigeria and the Kenyan Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, as the Deputy High Commissioner.

Daughter of the late Francis Wasilwa and Sara Wasilwa of Bukembe village, Bungoma County. Wife of Prof. Peter Musula Kundu of Egerton University. Sister of Wycliffe, Reuben, Philemon, Geoffrey, Simon and Jackline. Auntie of Calistus Wasilwa and others. Mother of Laura Kundu (USA), Moses Kundu, Edith Mwanza Kimpiatu, Collins Kundu and Edelquinn Kundu. She was grandmother of Lulu, Christie, Keilen, Aiden Spenser and Lauretta.

Funeral service was held on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 at the Montezuma Home.

Her body will be flown to Kisumu and proceed to her home in Lureko village Kakamega County for burial on Saturday 5th May 2018.

She fought a good fight and has finished the race. May God rest her soul in eternal peace.

    May her gentle soul Rest In Peace. We met at Nigeria embassy, she warmly welcomed me to visit kenya, Kenya is a lovely place.
