1923-2018

With humble acceptance of Gods will, the family of the late Pius Kimatu announces the promotion to glory of Monica M. Kimatu which occurred on 1st August 2018 after a long illness endured in faith.

Daughter of the late Masyuko and Muuki. Dear Wife to the late Pius Kimatu (PAPA). Sister of the late Paul, the late Mbinya and Mutunge. Beloved Mother of Maria, Simon Kimatu (USA), the late Anthony, Joseph, the late Sister Catherine, Justina, Colleta and Angela (UoN). Mother-in-law of Veronica Kimatu (USA), Susan and Agnes.

Grandmother of 31 grandchildren: Veronica Muuo, Henry, Hilary, Mwithi, Juliana, Muute, John, Peter, Dennis, the late Catherine Kimatu-Chris, Bosco, Derrick, Kenneth, Kuthea (all in USA), Eric, Flora, Miriam, Richard, Charles Munyao (USA), Donald, Lucia, Ursula, Elizabeth, Jane Peter (USA), Sebastian (KCB), Ngwili, Assumpta (Moi University), Nicole (UoN), Connie (UoN), MaryAnne (Moi Girls Nrb) and 44 great grandchildren: Felix, Mwende, Muema, Mumbua, Wausi, Stanley, Oscar, Eli, Landyn, Mikal, Gryffin Maweu (nicknamed Kiawa by Papa), Isaiah Simpson, Patience Jackson, Muchama, Munyao, Muuo, Victor, Mwendwa,Too, Rita, mutheu, Kyalo, Moraa, Isaboke among many more One great great grandchild, Ben.

Family, relatives and friends are gathering daily at her home and Garden Square, Nrb at 6:00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Montezuma funeral home Mks on Thursday 16th August 2018 at 8:00am.

Requiem mass will be held at 11:00am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church Kituiuni in Kithangathini sub-location Makueni County and thereafter burial rites at her home.
