It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mwalimu (Rtd) Mary Elizabeth Wanjiru Wanyeri, which occurred on 12th April, 2023 at Mwai Kibaki Referral Hospital – Othaya.

Daughter of the late John Karundo and Mary Nduta.

Wife of Rtd Mwalimu Joseph Wanyeri Gitahi. Beloved mother to Blasio Gitahi, John Karundo, Paul Ndung’u, Patricia Wairimu, Regina Mugo, Rose Angela Muchiri, Catherine Mumbi, James Mugo, Lucy Kihoria, Charles Njogu and Samuel Gateru.

Mother-in-law to Carlo Kaari, Leah Wanjiku, Ann Wanyeri, Mwenda Paul, Charles Mugo, Nicholas Muchiri, Purity Njoki, John Kihoria, Nancy Njogu and Esther Gateru.

Sister to the late Rose Wangui, the late Joseph Mugo, Lucy Mukundi, Johnston Gateru, Jane Mumbi and George Wachira, among others.

Daughter-in-law to Jacob Gitahi and Tabitha Nyathoko. Sister-in-law to the late Dr. Ndung’u, the late Mary Wanjiku, the late Joseph Gitonga, Dr. Clement Gitahi, Cecelia Kariuki, Beatrice Kimari, Lucy Wanja, the late Fredrick Kariuki, Moses Wang’ombe and Patrick Waari, among others.

The cortege leaves Mary Immaculate Funeral Home – Mweiga on 21st April, 2023 at 8.00am for funeral service and burial thereafter at her home in Githura Bellevue Village, Gataragwa Location, Kieni West Sub-county, Nyeri County.
