It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that the Akicho’s family announces the demise of Mwalimu Samson Obambo Akicho, which occurred on 19th March, 2023 at Inuka Africa Hospital – Kisumu.

Son to mzee Jeckonia Akicho (deceased) and Mama Susana Akicho (deceased).

Loving husband to Perez Oloo Akicho. Father to John Akicho, Dan Akicho Erastus Akicho and Lady Diana Akicho. Father-in-law to Wycliff Ochieng’ (South East Nyanza Field of Seventh Day Adventist Church), Lucy Ogolla, Nevyne Ogutu and Elizabeth Odhiambo. Grandfather to Ismael Akicho (Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University), Gift Omondi, Prince Sam and Craig Ochieng’, among others.

Brother to Herina Juma (deceased), Jane Owuor (deceased), Michael Ochieng’ Akicho (Miriu), Edward Oduka Akicho (deceased), Dr. Otieno Akicho, Esau Akicho (deceased), Mary Juma and Rose Nyangala.

Brother-in-law to Abigael Ochieng’ Akicho,Alice Oduka Akicho and Dr. Hannah Bula – Akicho.

Cousin to the Nyaliech’s, Ogeta’s, Ougo’s, Obambo’s, Okik’s, Midamba’s, the Muga’s and Amuka’s.

Son-in-law to the late Mathayo Ogaja and Carren Ogaja of Asembo Kanyikela. He was also son-in-law to the Jorum Bula’s of Kabondo, Andrew Onyango’s of Nyakach and Joseph Ogonyo’s of Kano.

Uncle to Irene, Bonface, Erick, Lorraine, Evance, Carren,Tony, Larry, Kroy, Jane, Lewis, Danish, Nixon, Millicent, Beatrice, Winny, Omuga, Molly, Susan, Soja and the Mzee Muga’s grandchildren.

The funeral and burial service will be held on 7th April, 2023 at Gendia Village, Kendubay (Homabay County).
