Mzee Duncan Daniel Ojijo Mwaya

It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing on of Mzee Duncan Daniel Ojijo Mwaya, formerly of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

Son of the late Cornelius Mwaya and Wilkister Amolo of Kokoth Kateng,’ Rachuonyo North Sub-County, Homa Bay County.

Husband of Rose Ojijo (Nyar Mbita). Father to Evans Ojijo, Everline Ojijo of Ireland, the late Ted Ojijo, Nancy Ojijo, Eric Ojijo of USA and Daisy Ojijo.

Son-in-law to the late Mama Plister Nyayiera and the late Josephat Owuor of Kaswanga, Rusinga Island.

Father-in-law to Cierra Mone Ojijo (US) and Washington Akumu of Redhouse Group.

Brother to the late George Juma, the late Hulda Owili, Moses Obel, the late Shem Mwaya, the late Charles Mwaya, Paul Ndinya, Yusuf Mwaya, Perez Akong’o and Rebecca Mwaya.

Brother-in-law to Japan Kwala, Ceasar Kwala, Caren Gaga, Alice Juma, Ludphine Obel and Sophia Ndinya, among others.

Uncle to Mustapha Juma, Josiah Juma, Maureen Juma, Wycliffe Obel, George Obel, Duncan Ndinya, Hotline Ndinya, Tom Ouma, Otieno Owili, Judy Owili and Esther Owili, among others.

Grandfather to Melvin, Kelly, Ryan, Adrian, Ethan, Jerome, Kyle, Rinah, Kayla and Keysha.

The cortege leaves Gendia Mission Hospital on Thursday, 10th March 2022 for an overnight stay at his Kakoko Sub-location, Kokoth Kateng’ Location home. Burial will be at the same venue on 11th March, 2022.
