Mzee Eriya Odeo Ipara

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad and Patriarch, Mzee Eriya Odeo Ipara of the Ikariwuok Clan, on the afternoon of Thursday 25th May, 2023 at his home.

He was the first born of the late Mzee Kefa Ipara Odeo and the late Tata Leah Abusuru. Step-son of Isabela Ipara and Victoria Atyiang.

Beloved husband to the late Mama Loice Nakhungu Odeo. Loving and most treasured father to the late Isaya Omerikit, Prof. Isaac 1para Oleo (Vice Chancellor, Kibabii University), the late Josephine Kabaka, Pastor Brenda Mukwami, Pastor Pens Aida, Job Okemer and Jack Ong’iro. Foster father to the late Jane Kiberenge, Priscilla Namema and Nasiloli Lirhu.

Adored and doting grandfather to Winfrida, Elijah, Paul, John, Lillian, Irene, Eng. Kefa, Collins, Eliza, Rasoa, Eliza, Edgar, Billy, Dr. Andrew, Mervyn, Irene, Naomi, Rasto, Winnie, Nancy, Faith, Marvin,Tonny, Celestine, Erick, Bernice, Cynthia, Mitchel, Alvin, James, the late Tom, the late Zebby and Jacky.

Brother to the late Samuel Okadah, the late Christopher Ikeya,the late Jacob Ipara, the late Benson Echikoi, the late Emmanuel Juma, the late Wycliffe Ochilla,Timothy Okimaru, Francis Ong’iro, Bernard Sirari, Rev. Zadock Omulei, Titus Ipara, Hon. Jerusa Aleu Waswa (MCA Milima Ward), Jose & and Andrew, among others.

Father-in-law to Rose Omerikit, Prof. Hellen Ipara (University of Eldoret), the late Kabaka Yuka, Oscar Mukwami, George Aida, Bilha Omerikit, Tabitha Okemer, Philip Namema and Herbert Lirhu. He was Uncle to many.

The cortege will leave Lifecare Hospital Morgue on Friday 2nd June, 2023 at 11.00am. Mzee will be laid to rest on Saturday 3rd June, 2023 at 10.00am on his farm at Eluuya Village, Kamukuywa Scheme, Naitiri Location, Milima Ward, Bungoma North Sub-county, Bungoma County.
