Mzee Francis Opondo Kungu

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will, that the Kungu family announces the death of Mzee Francis Opondo Kungu on 22nd July, 2023 at the Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu after an illness bravely borne.

Beloved husband and life partner to the late Leah Nyang’oro Opondo. Dedicated father to Architect Phillip Kungu, Melchizadek Odhiambo, Lydiah Achieng Owuor, Dorothy Adhiambo Alford (California USA) Beatrice Ajwang’ Owiti, Leah Nyang’oro, & Linda Akinyi.

Grandfather to Edgar, Ivy,Austin, Brian, Clinton, Annette, Fred, Chermaine, Lily, Patricia, Eddy, Michael, Majorie, Martin Ayoo, Hastings Okoth. Great Grandfather to Daniella & Taji.

Son of the late Kungu Mbira and the late Osoo Okangi of Kamuga, Kogembo sub-location, Central Karachuonyo Noma Bay County.

Father-in-law to Hellen Kungu, Lydiah Odhiambo, the late Dan Owuor, John Alford and Joseph Owiti.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary at 1.00p.m.Thursday, 3rd August, 2023 to be followed by a prayer service at Ong’ono SDA Church Kamuga at 3.00pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 4th August, 2023 at Simbi Primary School starting at 10.00am followed by burial at his home in Kamuga Village.
