It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee Harisson Aross Obonyo (Retired Provincial Information Officer – Nyanza), on 09/09/2022, after a long illness.

Son of the late Obonyo Majwala and the late Miriam Onyonge of Nyakach Kandaria. Son-in-law to the late Samwel Auko and the late Tabitha Auko of Kisumu Nyahera. Husband to Trufosa Odera.

Father to Zachary Obonyo of Kandaria Chemist Migori, Amos Obonyo, Ruth Obonyo, Betty Waguma, George Obonyo Aross, Mary Obonyo and the late Leah Obonyo. Father-in-law to Joyce Obonyo, Phoebe Obonyo, Waguma Okongo and Agnes Obonyo.

Brother to Killion Omwono, Hellena Nyadhi, Penina Odongo, Johnson Mireri and Joram Nyangweso (all deceased).

Uncle to Eng. Otieno Odongo, among others. ‘Sange’ mar the late Bishop Henry Okullu and Charles Anyumba, among others.

Grandfather to Topper,Teddy, Rachel, Brian, Rebecca, Nick, Andrew, the late Sydney, Joram, Kenneth, Juline, Olive, Vicky, Henry, the late Eddy, Judy, Lucas, Chris, Brenda, Christine, Beryl, Wesley, Larry, David, Prince, Anitta, Erick, Stacy and Tamara.

The cortege leaves JOOTRH – Kisumu Mortuary on 29/09/2022, for a brief stop-over at his home in Riat Hills, before proceeding to his ancestral home in Nyakach Kandaria where he will be laid to rest on Friday, 30/09/2022.
