It is with humble acceptance of God’s will and gratitude that we announce the demise of Mzee James Onunga Ongudu of Nyamarimba village, Nyakach Kadian’ga – Kisumu County.

Son to the late Joram Ongudu and Rael Oyando.

Loving husband to the late Mama Pamela Onunga.

Brother to the late Prof. Ben Odera, Dina Odak, Luke Ogongo (deceased), Robert Okinda (deceased), Doris Olweny, Grace Osedo (USA), Pery Olweny (USA) and Washington Dacho Ongudu (USA).

A doting father to Kenneth Onunga, the late Dorothy Nyabaro, Millicent Omondi, Violet Lumumba, Eunice Adhiambo(deceased), Tom Onunga, Mary Ochieng, Rachael Serevwa, Benter Onunga, Fred Onunga and Nick Onunga. Step-dad to Samy Odak, Gabriel Nyangweso, Calvince Okinda, Betty, Tony Odera, Phoeby, Dan, Erick, Antony, John, Gideon, Peter,Tom, among others.

Brother-in-law to Prof. Florence Odera, Perez Okinda (deceased), Elizabeth Dacho (USA), Silpa, Catherine (deceased), Climentina, Rusalina, Jane, Lona, Dorothy, Nora (deceased), Silvia (deceased), Margaret, among others.

Father-in-law to Nelly Odhiambo, Judy Kenda, Nancy Okinda and Purity Gloria Atieno. His sons-in-laws are David, the late Philip, Patrick, Calleb and Wellington.

Grandfather to Brian Odhiambo, Samkin Ochieng, Babra, Sharon, Dan, Mitchel, Gerald, Lennox Ambetza, David, Dorothy, Jerry, Joe, Ryan, Rome, Ethany and many others. Great Grandfather to Loch, Melisha, Dorothy,Alex, Joy, among others.

The cortege will leave Star Hospital Annex Morgue, Kibos Road Kisumu on 31 August, 2023. The burial service will take place at his home in Nyamarimba Village,West Kadiang’a Nyakach Sub-County on 1st September, 2023 from 9.00am.
