Mzee John Khabeko Etemesi
It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Mzee John Khabeko Etemesi which occurred on the morning of the 26th of April, 2021 at his Sibanga home in Cherengany, Trans Nzoia County.
Mzee John Etemesi was born into a family of service and learnt from an early age the honour and privilege of serving God, family, and Country, which would become his guiding principles throughout the rest of his life.
He began his public life as a teacher after training at Siriba Teachers Training College, and thereafter rose to the position of headmaster of Lunza School in Butere, Kakamega County. He later left teaching to join the Provincial Administration, first as a District Officer, serving in various parts of the country including Butere, Migori, Taita-Taveta, Kwale, Kilifi, Kisii.and Nyeri and subsequently as District Commissioner and served in Nyandarua, Embu, and Samburu Districts. The late President Daniel arap Moi, recognising his hard work and dedication to duty appointed him to the position of Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Coast Province and later as Provincial Commissioner, Eastern and subsequently Central Provinces.
Following his retirement from Provincial Administration, he continued to serve on several parastatal boards and Commissions. He also dedicated his time on church development activities in Butere, Kitale and Sibanga, something he continued to pursue, cherish, and enjoy until his death.
Mzee Etemesi will be remembered by the many people who knew him as a humble man; a diligent and hard-working public servant; a committed Christian and servant of The Church; a true and loyal friend, a leader, counsellor, a mentor, and advisor Who was always ready and willing to share his knowledge and wisdom; a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a doting grandfather.
He will be sorely missed. May the Good Lord Rest His Soul In Eternal Peace.
To see no name of any Member of PC Etememesi in his Obituary here, it tells me he was a Humble servant to All mankind; not just his Family. May he RIP; with the LORD Almighty.🙏
Rest in peace grandpa

Indeed, it is sad to learn that PC Etemesi is no more. In my youthful age 30 years ago, his name was always heard on KBC during news bulletins. Personally, I loved to hear about his illustrious career and energy throughout
