Nelson Stephen Nyaga Ngingo

It is with acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Nelson Stephen Nyaga Ngingo, formerly of Kenya Railways (Traffic & Business Development Departments), on 3rd August 2023.

He was the son of the late Jacob Ngingo and Rael Watiri. He was brother to the late Moses Kariuki, the late Lawrence Nduati, the late Ben Mwangi, the late Samuel Kiragu and Eliud Githinji. He was step-brother to the late Helen Wanjiru, the late Gathura Ngingo and the late Joyce Kabura.

Nelson was the loving husband to the late Petronilla Wakiyu. He was the father to the late Aloysius Ngingo, Catherine Watiri, the late Nicholas Ngingo, Anne Wambui, Francis Macharia, Alice Wanjiru, Philomena Njeri and Anthony Gathura.

He was the father-in-love to Peter, George and Mary.

He was the grandfather to Angela, Nugi, Nyandia, Wanjiru, Yvonne, Raymond, Dennis, Wakiyu, Rita, Andrew, Maureen, Nyaga, Maryanne, Joe, Alex, Adrian and Tanya. He was a great-grandfather to several children.

Family and Friends are meeting at his residence in Kahithe, Kahuro, Mugoiri Location, Murang’a County, daily from 3:00pm. In Nairobi; meetings will be held at the Holy Family Basilica (Cardinal Otunga, Annex St. Faustina Hall, 7th Floor) on Monday 7th August, and Tuesday 8th August, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referral Funeral Home (along Northern By-pass) on Wednesday, 9th August, 2023 at 7.00am. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church – Kahuro (Mugoiri Parish) at 11.00am, followed by the burial rites at his Kahithe home.
