Patrick Mburu Gathenge

1st January, 1955 — 11th November, 2022

It is with deep sorrow but acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Patrick Mburu Gathenge, that occurred at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital on 11th November, 2022.

Patrick was the son of the late Daniel Gathenge Njaci and the late Milka Wanja Gathenge of Miguta Village, Nyaga Sub-Location, Githunguri Sub-County in Kiambu County.

Beloved husband to Felister Wamaitha Mburu; loving father to Mary Mburu – Karanja, Michael Gathenge, Milkah Mburu – Nganga, Charles Hinga and Samuel Kariuki. Father-in-law to Prof. Anthony Karanja Ngugi, Jane Wambui Gathenge and Samuel Nganga Muhindi.

A loving brother to Ann Wambui Nganga (Kigio), Esther Njoki Gathenge, Phillip Kariuki Gathenge and Tabitha Wangui Nganga.

Brother-in-law to Pius Ndungu, Mary Kariuki, the late Joseph Nganga, Peter Kangethe, the late Capt. F.K Hinga, amongst others.

A doting grandfather to lvanna, Nathan and Elaine Karanja; Patrick, Alex and Charles Gathenge; Shivonne, Olivia and Austin Nganga; Adrian and Brian Kariuki. Uncle and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Ruiru, Gitothua opposite Ruiru Prisons & Training College and at his rural home in Miguta village, Githunguri.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital Funeral Home along the Northern by-pass, on Tuesday, 22nd November, 2022 for a funeral service at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish — Miguta at 10:30am. Thereafter, interment at the family home in Miguta Village, Githunguri behind Miguta Shopping center.
