    My dearest Wamae

I never thought I would be writing to you in the past tense. Since our childhood you were the life of the party, the happy warm star that made everyone happy. Your light heartedness, warmth, friendliness, kindness warmed every space you occupied.
I miss the times you visited us in Nyeri for holidays because you made everyone happy with your big bright smile. Even our mum loved and looked forward to your visits because you made her laugh with your sharp wit and sense of humour. I moved to Nairobi to live with your family, we had so much fun and mischief- like the time you hired me ( for free) to act as your Aunty in a school meeting- which the teacher dismissed us. You went to Dubai and continued being you warm, friendly, sharp, witty, confident, classy, stylish and we planned I would visit you to see Dubai and your exciting life including a drive in your BMW. We were proud of your achievements in Dubai including your developments in your career- who wouldn’t like having a confident, hardworking, witty, sharp and kind person like you. You made everyone feel at ease around you and your never say die spirit will be missed. Though you are gone in flesh you will never be gone in spirit as your good deeds will forever be remembered.

Finally reality has sunk you’re no more. It’s painful but that’s the reality. I take heart in knowing your many good deeds survives you. I remember the time you came to pick my sick mother in our to go for her medication. I can never forget the year 2005 when you showered me with gifts after KCSE exams were out.Your sense of humour was on another level. I recall with nostalgia those good old golden days when you came to visit us during school holidays, the fun we had and you being the king of mischief the troubles you put us to our beloved grandmother.Wamae you were such an integral part in my life and by extension Wamugo family. Koma thayu mwana witu.
