To Prof Ann kagure Karani’s Family,
I have learnt with great sadness that Prof Ann Karani is no more. I was in the July/1988 KRCHN class, this was a pioneer cohort and Prof Karani was the Coordinator. I am who I am and where I am today because of her. She challenged us to to go out there and be the best we can be, this, at a time that Kenya had no degree programs for nurses. She modeled professionalism, and for this, it was easy for us to follow. When I contemplated PhD while living in Australia, she was there to provide mentorship and support.
Thank you Mwalimu, your job is done, our profession is better because of your example and dedicated service. May your family find peace on their great loss, and may your soul rest in eternal peace.
