It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of the Lord’s will that we announce the passing on of Prof. Ezekiel Okemwa, that occurred on Sunday the 19th November 2023 while undergoing medical treatment at Tenwek Hospital.

The late Professor was former director at Kenya Marine Fisheries and Research Institute (KMFRI) and Lecturer at Technical University of Mombasa, Co-founding Director – Coral Junior and High School, Chairman of Entaero Sacco

The late professor was the son of the late Dishon and Rebecca Okemwa. Son-in-law to Charles and Esther Nyangwansa.

Loving husband to Rose Nyanchoka. Loving father to Frank, Paul, Elizabeth, Loice, Boniface, Sheila, Joseph. Father-in-law to Mary and Pauline. He was the grandfather to Milan, Milena, Faithrose, Esther, Rehema,Talia and Precious.

Brother to Wilfred Okemwa former KRA Commissioner and NTSA board member, (deceased) Oenga, (deceased) Miruka, Martin Okemwa, (deceased) Keziah, Jason Okemwa, Julius Okemwa, (deceased) Kenyatta, Queen and Nyabuto. Step-brother to Evans Okemwa amongst others.

Brother-in-law to Mbicha, Mona. Helena. (deceased) Anna, Otondi, Wilkister, Ouru, Jane. He was uncle and cousin to many.

Meetings are being held daily for prayers, fundraising and funeral arrangements in Mombasa at his home in Mtwapa and Summit Grill, VOK from 5.30PM.

The main physical fundraising will be held on the 05th December 2023 at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club from 4 00pm.

The cortege leaves Pandya Memorial Hospital on the 07th December at 1100am followed by a memorial service at his home in Mtwapa at 2.00pm.

The funeral will thereafter take place in his home at Mtwapa on the 08 December 2023.

    May almighty God give the family strength during this trying moments and may the soul of the departed rest in eternal peace. I will never ever forget the advices you gave us on the final day after KCSE exams of 2018 when you invited us for a party. Rest In Peace the legend you were a Kenyan hero.
