Professor ErastusRiungu Mutiga

April 1947 to April 2023

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance that we announce the death of Professor Erastus Riungu Mutiga, who passed away on 17th April 2023.

He was the son of the late Stanley M’Mutiga and Mama Brigit Wanja of Yururu, Meru County.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Eunice Mutiga, children Michael and MaryAnne Mugambi, Danika and Mwongera Mutiga, and Nkatha and John Ngichu. He was the loving `Babu’ to Gabriella, Ethan, Manuela, Wanjiru, Wachira, Ntinyaari and Wangari.

Professor was brother to Samuel and Elisheba Mbae, the late Margaret Miriti, Alice and Solomon Muthamia, Evans Kaburu, Rosemary Karoki, the late Rosalind Gakii, and Kajuju and Edwin Kinoti. He was an in-law, friend, uncle, mentor and teacher to many.

As we bid farewell, a memorial service for a life well lived in service of others will be held at Ridgeways Baptist Church on Friday 21st April 2023 from 10am.

Family and friends are meeting daily from 5pm at his residence in Thome.
