It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing on of Professor Henry Stanley Mwaniki Kabeca, of Mutunduri Village, Embu County, which occurred on 13th March, 2023, after a long illness bravely borne.
Prof. H.S.K. Mwaniki is a renowned historian, author and lecturer and has worked with various institutions of higher learning including Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi, Egerton University, Laikipia University, Kenya Methodist University(KEMU), Chuka University, South Eastern Kenya University, University of Embu, Embu College and a Mentor.
Husband to the late Mary Igandu Mwaniki.
Son to the late Joel Njagi and the late Phides Njeri. Son-in-law to the late Kamau Kamunyori and Susan Kamau.
Father to Dr. Susan Mwaniki – Gitau (Egerton University), Phides Mugo (Blue Ocean Consultants), Julius Karani (Kenya Power), and Joel Njagi (Virtuous Tours & Travel). Father-in-law to Edward Gitau (Real People), Samuel Mugo (Cliff Business Solutions), Angelicah Ruguru (Kenya Power), Miriam Wangui (Jabali Schools) and Joyfridah Muthoni (Bliss Well Point).
Brother to the late Helen Marigu, the late David Kiarago, Susan Wanjuki and Alvan Njeru. Brother-in-law to the late Obadiah Nyaga, the late Richard Njagi, the late Peninah Werimba, Hannah Gachanja, Ernest Njagi, the late John Kamunyori and Naomi Gichoni.
Grandfather to Mitch Njuguna, Prince Mike Mwenda, Larry Munene, Michelle Mwende, Sean Mugi, Miguel Mutugi, Ethan Addai,Azaria LKibali and Brighton Gitonga. Uncle and friend to many.
The cortege leaves Gakwegori Funeral Home in Embu on Monday, 20th March, 2023 at 9.30am and will proceed to University of Embu grounds for a funeral service at 10.30am. Thereafter, final rites will be held at his home at Mutunduri.
