The Congregation of the Contemplative Evangelizers of the Heart of Christ (CECC) and the family of the late John Bravion Gicharu, with great sorrow wish to announce the sudden death of their Son and Brother Rev. Fr. Gerald Kariuki, CECC through a tragic road accident which occurred along Garsen-Lamu Road on 17th April, 2021.

The late Rev. Fr. Gerald Kariuki was born in Kirinyaga County, Njukiini Location, Mirichi Sub-location, Kiambuu Village in Murang’a Catholic Diocese on 22nd April, 1966.

He was born in a family of nine to the late John Bravion Gicharu and Lucy Wambui Gicharu. Brother of the late Martin Muriithi, David Gitari, Simon Muciri, Daniel Mwai, Bonface Mwaniki, Teresius Nyaga, Mary Kuthii and Sicily Njeri. An uncle of Rose Wanjiku, Mercy Wawira, Linet Karimi, Consolata Wawira, Caroline Murugi, Nikita Nyakio, Ann Natasha Wangui, Mary Wawira, Teresia Wangeci, Immaculate Nyakio, Erick Macharia, Angelus Chomba, Lewis Mwangi, J. Karani, Clement  Maina, and Consolata Kariuki. Grandfather of Maxwell Bundi, Alvine, Ashley, Tifany and Nilan.

The cortege leaves Malindi to Nakuru today on 20th April 2021 for requiem Masses at their Mother House in Rongai Nakuru awaiting burial which will be on 22nd April 2021 resided by Rt. Rev. Bishop Maurice Muhatia Makumba-Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru.

May the Lord receive the soul of our Brother. May he reward him for the services he rendered the Church and the people of God while on earth. Rest in Peace our Brother.

    May Jehovah the God of all comfort be with you in this hard time. Death is not His will as many say. On the contrary, He promises to resurrect our loved ones and get rid of death forever. (2 Cor. 1:3,4; Heb. 2:11; John 5:28,29; Rev. 21:3,4).
