It is with deep sentiments of sorrow that the Vincentian Fathers in Kenya announce the passing on of Rev. Fr. Joy Luka Vellaramkalayil V.C., Who was ministering the Word of God in the position of Asst. Director of Vincentian Prayer House, Lavington, Nairobi.
Fr. Joy was born in India in 1969 and joined the Vincentian Congregation in 1991, and as a seminarian he received a special call to be a minister of the Word of God in the continent of Africa. After completing his formation in Tanzania, he was ordained a priest in the year 2000. He committed himself sincerely in the missionary work of evangelization in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya in various parishes, retreat centers and communities. He was called by the Lord on 10th April, 2021 in order to share in His resurrection.
He was son of Anna and late Luke and brother to Thomas, Jose, Cisily, Sali, Babu, Brice, Lilly, Johny, Jessy, Saji, Jiji, Sr. Alphonsa, late George and late Baby.
He will be laid to rest today April 12th, 2021 at 2:30pm at Uzima Vincentian Study House, Ngong in a private ceremony in observance to the Government COVID- 19 protocols.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of our beloved Fr. joy Luka.
