Appreciation

Following the demise of Rev Mrs Mary .Awinja Litiku on 13th August 2023, we, the family of Festus Litiku, are humbled by the immense and incredible moral, spiritual and financial support we received from family, friends and colleagues. Mama Mary was a retired teacher and lecturer, and retired Nairobi Provincial Assistant Director of Education (PQAS), Ministry of Education.

She was the daughter of the late Rev Nehemiah Amayi Amakoye and the late Eva Narnatsi Amakoye and the daughter-in-law to the late Rev Peleg Mukunda Litiku and the late Jennifer Shioko Litiku.

She was the loving wife to Q.S. Festus Litiku and mother to Mercelline, Hosea, Josephine. Harold, Rachel and Peter. She was the mother-in-love to Connie, Natasha and Oscar, the doting grandmother to Fiona, Nicolas, Malaika, Serene, Hannah, Ethan, Ella and Eman.

She was the sister to the late Wilson Amakoye, Noel Nabwangu, the late Georgina Walobwa,Velma Musee,Timothy Amakoye, Dan Amakoye, Morrison Amakoye and Zakayo Amakoye.

And she was the sister-in-law to the late Repha, the late Yomasi, the late Charles Mulefu, the late Samson Mukunda, Theresina Namlekhwa, the late Leah Khasungu, John Litiku, Noel Mukhwana, Milka Luhombo, Obed Litiku and Samuel Litiku. She was a mother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend to many.

The Litiku Family would like to acknowledge the incredible medical teams at both Metropolitan Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital Prime Care who worked valiantly to try and save Mama’s life. We are forever indebted to the many friends, extended family members, fellow church members, school friends, work and professional colleagues, and the numerous other people from around the world who have stood firmly by our side and condoled with us. Some of these include the General Assembly of the Church of God in East Africa (Kenya), the Church of God Nairobi Cluster, Kaloleni Area, Mariakani Area, Kaloleni Congregation, Icia,kho Cluster, Idakho North Area. Imbale Church of God, AAK and AAK SACCO, BORAQS, AAQS, ClArb, IQSK, NEHEEMA l SACCO, KECODA SACCO. KAMEME Group, Palm Ladies, KAA, NPSC. Medical Colleagues, Curium, alumni of JKUAT Karen, SMC 402 Group 4. Strathmore, Precious Blood, Lenana and Lavington Schools, Neighbours, Family, Friends, Imbale and Ebulonga Family, the Government through its various representatives, and to everyone who played any role in ensuring that Mama Mary a,got a befitting send-off.
