We are saddened to announce the death of Reverend Professor Nahashon Gitonga following an illness bravely borne.

He leaves behind his dearest wife Dr. Monica Gitonga and children Neema Kathure & Emmanuel Gitau, Irene Nkirote & Muratha Kinuthia, Timothy Koome. He was blessed with grandchildren Nadia Gitau, Nyoro Gitau, Kendi Gitau, Kinuthia Muratha, Njeri Muratha and Naitore Koome.

Nahashon was the son of the late Reuben M’Inoti and the late Martha Mwaromo and a loved son-in-law to the late Bernard Kibua and Evangeline Kibua. He leaves behind siblings; Salome & the late Musa, the late Thomas & Tabitha, Mutuiri & Virginia, Rachel & the late Stephen, the late Elizabeth & Joel, Joyce & Mishek, the late Peter, Muthoni &Wandugi.

He was blessed with In-laws Nancy & Joseph, the late Kinoti & Mette, Lydia & Fred, Susan Gakii. Nahashon was a loved uncle, cousin and valued friend to many, a committed minister & respected leader in the Methodist Church in Kenya.

The grief is immeasurable but so is the love, the words of counsel, laughter and beautiful memories Prof. has left us with.

Family and friends are meeting as follows: Meru: At his home, every day at 4.00pm and at Ntemwene MCK. Nairobi: Meetings at Lavington United Church, on 12th and 13th September 2022, starting from 4pm.

The burial ceremony will be in Meru (Ntemwene – Kathera) on Friday 16th, September, 2022.

Revelations 14:13 —”Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, from now on.” “Yes”, says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

    It is with Deep sorrow I pass my commiserations to the entire family of Prof Gitonga.I love the way the wife (Dr Gitonga is humble ) and an astute psychology..
