We regret to announce the sad demise of the late Retired Senior Commandant of the National Youth Service (NYS), a former MauMau General, Elijah Muraya Mbuthia that occurred on 13 June, 2023 at his farm in Kio farm, Ngorika.
He was the son to the late Mbuthia Muraya and the late Wangeci Mbuthia.
The late was married to Flora Njoki Muraya and were blessed with seven children namely; Francis Waicere Muraya, Margaret Wangeci Maingi, the late Eunice Wanjiku Thairu, Milka Njeri Mwangi, David Mbuthia Muraya, Samuel Muchinji Muraya and Beatrice Muthoni Kiraita.
Brother to the late Monica Gachoki Njoroge, the late Muchinji Mbuthia and Charles Mucheru Mbuthia.
Son-in-law to the late Waicere Mugi and the late Lucy Wanjiku Waicere. Brother-in-law to the late Kimani Waicere, the late Muthoni Kibacio and Wilson Mugi Waicere.
He is survived by sons-in-law; Christopher Maingi, Lawrence Thairu, Duncan Mwangi and Joseph Kiraita. Daughters-in-law; Magdalene Wanjiru Waicere, Beatrice Wangari Mbuthia and Martha Nyambura Muchinji and Uncle to many. He is survived by 23 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many extended great-great grandchildren.
The cortege will leave PNN Funeral Home in Nakuru on Tuesday, 20th June, at 7.30am, 2023, and proceed to be interred on the same day at his farm in Kio Farm, Ngorika Division, Mirangine Sub County within Nyandarua County.
