It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Rtd (W01) Martin Mutavi Komu – Kenya Defense Forces on 22′ August, 2022.

The first born child of Rtd (SACP) Julius Mailu Komu (Kenya Prisons Service) and the late Martha Nduku. A loving husband to Serah Ndinda. Son-in-law to the late Simon Nzivo and the late Diana Mukonyo.

Father to Flora Mukonyo, Dennis Mailu, Rose Nthambi and Zipporah Nduku. Father-in-law to Patrick Muli. Grandfather to Mary Nthenya, John Kelly, Ethan and Terry Ndinda.

Brother to Rev. Fr. Michael Komu, Dr. Nicholas Komu, Thomas Kyalo, Elizabeth Sivi, James Komu, Boniface Komu and Rose Nzisa. Brother-in-law to Patricia Wangui, Lucy Nthenya, Sivi Musyoka, Evelyn Nthoki, Jane Wamuyu, Peter Mbage, the late Lydia Muloko, Priscilla Nduku, the late Joel Kyalo, Francis Musembi, the late Joyce Kamanthe, James Muisyo, the late Joseph Kinyoli, Mary Nzilani, Benson Masaku, and Joseph Muthini. He was an uncle and friend to many.

Meetings are being held daily at Holy Family Minor Basilica Hall for prayers and burial arrangements from 5.00pm.

The cortege will depart from Mbaku Funeral Home – Matuu (along Nairobi – Garissa Road) on Tuesday 30th August, 2022 at 9.00am for funeral service at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (Kwa Staff) and internment at his home in Maiyuni Village, Kivingoni Location, Yatta Sub-county, Machakos County.

Romans 14:8 — “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”
