It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mzee Samuel Omiti which occurred on Friday, 17th January 2020.

Beloved son of the late Mzee Zephania Ogalo Ongou and the late Mama Salome Ochieng Ogalo, Step son of the late Mama Nora Ogalo. Loving husband of Mrs Rachel Mary Anyango Omiti. Father of Hellen Omiti Machora (GA Insurance Limited), Caroline Adongo (UK), Fred Oloo (Nairobi) and Maureen Omiti (AfDB). Brother of the late Ker Riaga Ogalo, Kingsley Ogalo, Isaiah Opiyo, Gideon Ogalo, the late John Ogalo, the late Esther Akumu, the late Mary Bondo, Florence Onyango, Rael Onditi and Lydia Owoth. Cousin of Josiah Obuom, Harrison Nyayande, Michael Ojwang, Kennedy Osano, Ochieng Oyomo the late William Osano, the late James Olwa and the late Noah Maira.

Brother-in-law of Martha Robinson, Sila Okumu, Sarah Omullo, the late Robison Bwana, the late John Omulo, and the late Herbert Bwana, the late Mama Yuanita Wanga Riaga, Mama Syprine Riaga and Mama Jane Riaga and Mama Mary Otieno, among others. Father-in-law of the late Richard Machora, the Onchwari’s, Olivia Mutenyo among others. Uncle of the late Eric Riaga, Ken Riaga, Washington Riaga, Edwin Riaga, CPA Fred Riaga, Ochieng Riaga, Philemon Riaga, Hesborn Riaga, Robert Riaga, the late Rose Riaga-Otieno, Mary Achieng, Pamela Ogal, Caren Airo, Lillian Kunda, Elga Riaga, Florence Dianga, Molly Riaga, Dina Riaga, Judith Ondigo, Martha Riaga,Teresa Riaga and Quinter Riaga, Frank Otieno, Maxwell Otieno,Tom Juma, Evans Juma, Mary Okumu, Nashon Robinson, Fred Omullo, Irene Omullo Nashon Bwana, Ken Oburu, Tom Ngoche, Nashon Ngoche and John Odada among others.

Grandfather of Rachel Zakumi, Salome Ogalo, Tiffany Rachel Oloo, Wayne Henry among others.

Mzee’s body lies at the Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary in Kisumu. Friends and relatives are meeting at his Residence in Park View Estate, South C House 47 in Nairobi and at his rural home in Katinda Village, Oyugis Sikri Centre, Kasipul division— Homa Bay County.

Harambee will be conducted on 4th of February 2020 at the All Saints Cathedral Nairobi from 5pm.

The burial takes place on the 7th of February 2020 at Katinda Village, East Kamagak Location, Kasipul Division, Sikri Centre.
