Sister Agnes Wanjiku Kariuki

25th December 1963 – 22nd November 2022

With acceptance of God’s will, the Sisters of Mercy and the family of the late Kirungu wish to announce the death of Sr. Agnes Wanjiku Kariuki that occurred peacefully on Tuesday, 22nd November 2022.

Sr. Agnes Wanjiku was the daughter of the late Joseph Kirungu Kariuki and late Jane Wambui Kariuki. Sister to Mary Wanjiru and the late Oscar Kamau, Meta and Tabitha, Simon and Cecilia Njango, Munyua and the late Susan, Mutura and Catherine. She was an aunt, cousin, niece to many.

Sr. Agnes Wanjiku joined the congregation of the Sisters of Mercy in 1993. She has served as a teacher in various schools such as Our Lady of Mercy South B, Miguta Primary School, St Elizabeth Primary School Lunga Lunga. Until her death, she was teaching at Buruburu Primary School.

There will be a Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church (Makadara), Jogoo Road. on Wednesday, 30th November 2022 at 3.00 pm.

The cortege will leave Mater Misericordiae Hospital Mortuary on Thursday, 1 December 2022 at 7.00am for Funeral Mass at St. Austin’s Catholic Church at 10.00am. Thereafter, interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery Msongari.
