It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Solomon Ngugi Ruoro (Kagunyi Ruoro) – HSC and retired Agricultural Officer.
Son of the late David Ruoro Kagunyi and Grace Nyacuru (Ruguru) Ruoro. Step-son to the late Gachiku Ruoro. Brother to the late Ekira Mwihaki Mihingo, the late Miriam Wakonyo Kariuki, the late Esther Wagikuyu and the late Veronica Wathoni. Step-brother to the late Ashfold Nyanjui, the late Francis Muthondeki, the late Ruth Wagikuyu, the late Esther Gachiru and the late Sarah Muringa.
He was the husband to Phyllis Wangari and Maria Wangui. Father to Jane Ruguru, Loise Wangui (USA), Miriam Kathuri, the late Jacinta Mugure, Joseph Ruoro, Dr. Michael Ruoro (Australia), Mary Wanjiku, Gerald Ndung’u, Peter Mwangi, Daniel Macharia, Samuel Macharia, Dr. Isaac Komo (UK), Francis Mbothe, Ecra Akumu, Paul Wainaina (Surveyor), Miriam Nyakenyanya, Eng. Dr. Hannah Nyambara, Alice Gathoni, Grace Ruguru, Margaret Waithira, Ecra Muinde and Stephen Ndung’u. He is a grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
Father-in-law to the late Samuel Atandi, Charles Wangoe (USA), Samuel Kathuri, Gatundu Thiga, Lilian Kemunto, Lorna Belen (Australia), Gabriel Gitau, Rachel Muthoni, Judy Nyakinyi, Martha Waguthii, Tabitha Njeri, Lilian Wanjiku, Jacinta Muthoni, Job Akumu, Jane Kashu, Crispus Nyakenyanya, Peterson Githinji, Geofrey Marindany, Paul Njoroge, Arthur Gacheru (Micronesia Irelands), Shadrack Muinde and Nelly Kainyu.
Friends and families are meeting daily at 4.00pm at his home in Thuraku Village, Gakoe for prayers and funeral preparation.
The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Referral Funeral Home (along Kahawa West Bypass), on Friday 28/04/2023 at 7.00am followed by a funeral service at Gakoe Secondary School and thereafter burial will be held at his farm in Thuraku Village, Gakoe, Gatundu North, Kiambu County.
