Stephen Gikonyo Gathecha (Dagitari)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Mr. Stephen Gikonyo Gathecha (Dagitari). on 8th July 2022, at the Nairobi Hospital.

Son of the late Gathecha Muhuyu and the late Wambui Gathecha and son-in-law to the late Kinyanjui Muriu and the late Lilian Mukami.

Husband to the late Kathleen Wangui Gikonyo. Father to Daniel Kinyanjui Gikonyo and Marie Antoinette Kinyanjui, Dr. Mukami Njoroge (Strathmore University) and Stephen Mututi Njoroge, Margaret Wambui Thagichu and George Thagichu, Gathecha Gikonyo and Rose Wanjiku Gathecha, Edith Njeri Chege and Captain E.J. Chege, Richard Muhuyu Gikonyo and Gladwell Wacu Muhuyu, Dr. Florence Wambui Nderitu (KMTC) and Dr. Patrick Ndirangu Nderitu, Carol Waithera Gitau and Peter Gitau.

Grandfather to Dan,Alex, Roy, Queen, Christian,Wairimu,Timothy, Gee, Juliet, Lorna, Moses, Wangui, Mutitu, Sandra, Jason, Catherine, Steven, Dr. E. Nduta, Mbarathi, Stephanie, Marion,Alan, Mumbi and Wangui. Great-grandfather to: Djibril, Darrell, Amaya, Celestine, Alex, Leila And Kye.

Brother to the late Daniel Magothe, the late Richard Muhuyu, the late Rahab Njeri, the late Leah Waithera, the late Damaris Ng’endo, the late David Mbote,Wilson Gitau and Janet Mburu. A cherished uncle and friend to many.

The cortege will leave the Lee Funeral home on Friday, 15th July 2022 at 7.00am. Funeral service will be held at P.C.E.A Karia Church, Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu County starting from 10.00am and thereafter interment at his Kiairia Farm.

Relatives and friends continue to meet as follows: Daily prayer meetings at his Kiairia farm starting from 4.00pm. At Green Ridge Estate Kiambu.

Prayer service will be held at St Andrews Church Nairobi on Tuesday, 12th July 2022 at 5.30pm.
