Stephen Mutua King’uyu

1959 – 2019

It is with great sadness and acceptance of God’s will and timing that we announce the sudden demise of Mr. Stephen Mutua King’uyu, Deputy Director, Climate Change Mitigation at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, on Saturday August 31st, 2019.

Mr. King’uyu was also the immediate former Chair of the Consultative Group of Experts (CGE) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), current co- chairman of the Africa LEDS Global Partnership.

A Loving Husband of Doroty Mutave Mutua, a loving dad of Lydia Mwende, John Mwendwa and Jones Mulinge. Father-In-Law of Anthony Kilonzo and Abigail Mwendwa. Grandfather of Victor Mutua Kilonzo and Caleb Wendo Kilonzo. Son-In-Law of the late Kimondiu and Priscah Kimondiu. Brother of the late Nzilu, Dr. Paul Mboloi, the late Teresia Mumina, Daniel King’uyu, Joseph King’uyu, David King’uyu, Agnes King’uyu and Francis King’uyu. Brother-In-Law to Josephine Nzilu, Dr. Jacinta Ndambuki, Phitilisah Ngina Nzui, Emma Kioko, Esther Muthembwa, Stephen Mumina and Lawrence Kioko. Step Son of Mary King’uyu. Step Brother of Peter King’uyu, Jacinta among others.

Funeral service will be on Friday 6th September, 2019 at Deliverance Church Ngong Road at 2pm.

Stephen will be laid to rest on Saturday 7th September, 2019 in Linga Village (near Mba Secondary), Kisau Mbooni East, Sub-Country. Makueni County.
