Stephen Mwangi Thairu

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mr. Stephen Mwangi Thairu of Equity Bank, Nairobi which occurred on 15th March, 2023 after a long illness bravely borne. He hailed from Muruguru Sub-Location, Ruringu Location, Nyeri County.

He was the son of Johnson Thairu Wang’ombe and Grace Waithera Thairu.

Beloved husband to Irene Waruguru. Father to Jayson Thairu Mwangi.

Brother to the late Catherine Wanjiru, Solomon Maina (USA), James Irungu (USA), Margaret Wambui, and Catherine Njoki. Brother-in-law to Gladys Wangeci (USA), Gillian Njeri (USA), Caesar Njiru, and Robert Kiingati.

Son-in-law of the late Peter Mathenge and Esther Gathigia.

Uncle to Juliet Wanja, Grace Nyambura, Ivan Thairu (USA), and Nova Grace.

Nephew to Macharia Karangu (USA), Florence Mwangi, the late Isabella Waigwe, the late Dr. Mwangi Karangu, and the late Kinyua Wang’ombe. Cousin to many.

A memorial service to celebrate Mwangi’s life will be held at PCEA Church Kasarani on Sunday, 19th March, 2023 at 4.00pm.

Friends and family are meeting daily at 5.00pm at Blue Springs Hotel along Thika Superhighway and his rural home in Muruguru. Nyeri County.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home, Kabati on Friday, 24th March at 7.00am.The funeral service will be at PCEA Muruguru Church, Kagumo Parish Nyeri County at 10.00am. He will be laid to rest at his home, Muruguru village.
