Sylas Ekeno Chepkonga

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylas Ekeno Chepkonga of the NIS which occurred on 5th July 2023.

Son of Samson Kipkosgei Chepkonga and the late Ruth Akiru Moyale.

Loving husband of Mercy Ariong’ and Michelle Eyanae. Father of Genevieve Ekeno, Roosevelt Ekeno, Jordin Ekeno and Ryland Ekeno.

Brother of Constable Regina Akai Lokamar (Kenya Prisons), Nancy Palor, Nelly Loriu and Joan Akiru. Step-brother of Wilhelms Kibet, the late Irene Jepchirchir, Kelvin Kiprotich, Victor Kipchirchir, Derrick Kiplagat, Sharon Jebet, Brian Kimutai and Joy Jeptoo.

Son-in-law of Damian Arong’, Philomena Akuwam and the late Jacinta Alimlim Atabo. Grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Nairobi and Lodwar.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home on Friday 21st July, 2023 for Lodwar. Interment will be held at his family home on 22nd July, 2023.
