Sylvia Nekoye Simiyu
It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Sylvia Nekoye Simiyu, which occurred on 18th June 2023, after a short illness bravely fought.
Beloved daughter of David and Susan Simiyu, of Mfupi Village, Maliki, Bungoma.
Daughter-in-law to Julius Mutuma and Anne Njeri of Maua, Meru.
Sylvia was Granddaughter to the late Jotham and Mary Keya, the late Didimo Satia and the late Teresa Namukhasi Khisa.
A devoted wife to George Kaberia Mutuma (Kenya Police Kasarani) and a doting mother to Melody Mukami (Nibs College, Rongai) and Rodney Sabwami (Moi Boys Mbiruri).
A loving sister to Bramwell Simiyu (Chief Officer, Nairobi County Government), Millicent Simiyu (Bishop Sulumeti Girls High School, Kakamega), Jamlick Butali (B& K Designs), Zacky Simiyu and Mercy Simiyu.
Sister-in-love to Carol Shigoli, Ken Tirrah, Eve Butali, Caroline Adhiambo and John Barasa.
Sister-in-law to Josephine Karimi, James Mwenda, Martin Gitonga, Pius Muthomi and Franco Mugambi.
A loving Aunt to Suzzie, Leon, Clyde, Tiara, Wendy, Ethan, Rita, Wesley, Jayden, Ella, Wency, Quincy, Jawabu, Jabali and many others.
A niece and cousin to the Kiliswals, Wesangsula’s, Kunania’s, Opicho’s, Watwati’s, Malaba’s, Sabwami’s, Satia’s and Wetangula’s, among others.
A Fund-raiser will be held today,Tuesday 27th June 2023, at the family home in Kwa Mfupi/Maliki area from 2.00 pm to help defray the costs of the funeral and hospitalization of the late Sylvia.

The cortege will leave Lifecare Hospital Mortuary, Bungoma on Friday 31st June 2023 for her parents’ home in Kwa Mfupii-Maliki area, Milima Ward, Tongaren Constituency, Bungoma County where she will be laid to rest on Saturday, 1st July 2023.
