Tabitha Dorca Okelo (Sister Joseph)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Tabitha Dorca Okelo of Gem Yala – formerly Senior Matron of Nairobi Hospital known as Sister Joseph.

Wife of Prof. Jasper Okelo and mother of Alan Joseph Okelo, Ken Agina Okelo, John Paul Okelo and Yvonne Okelo. Grandmother of Hotani Agina and Sia Tabitha Agina.

Daughter of both the late Japuonj Joseph and Mama Rahel Nyanduga of Obaga, Asembo Rakombe, Rarieda Sub-county, Siaya County.

Daughter-in-law of both the late Paulo and Mama Roda Opiche of Gem Luanda Kagina.

Sister of the late Councillor Rose Orondo, the late Sophy Odero, the late George Onyuna, the late Hon. Grace Ogot, the late Awili Jandara, and Ambassador Bob Jalang’o.

Sister-in-law of Prof. Bethwel Alan Ogot, the late James Orondo and Mama Joyce Onyuna.

Cousin of J.E. Okiri Pacho, Ven. Oliver Gwer Pacho, Alice Ochieng-Achayo, among many others.

Aunty of Eileen & David Ogot, Sally & Arch. Milton Ogot, Grace Songi Ogot Baridi, Atieno & Prof. Madara Ogot, Arthur & Perez Obara, Fred & Esther Ogumbo, Margaret Okelo, Hilda Otieno, Alberta Onyuna, Lucy, Daniela, Otieno and Nightdren Awili, Joseph Jangima, the Jalang’os, among many others.

There will be a fundraising meeting at CITAM – Valley Road on Friday 30th June, 2023 at pm. All contributions to be sent to Mpesa Till No. 8602370 to reflect Joseph Jangima (Treasurer).

There will be a memorial service at CITAM Valley Road on Thursday, 6th July, 2023 at 10.00am. Burial ceremony will take place at her Gem Yala home on Saturday, 8th July, 2023 from 10.00am.
