Veronica Amusungu Eseme

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved Veronica Amusungu Eseme Mai on 5th of January 2020 after a long illness bravely fought.

Veronica was a loving wife to Joseph Esiromo Mai. Daughter to Mama Wilmina Atyang and the late Mzee Desterio Ilado. Daughter in-law to the late Mzee Soter Esiromo Ochoo and the late Mama Granda Amojong’. Mother to Emmanuel Papa, Anita Mai, Eva Mai, Dempsey Mai and Clive Mai. She was a grandmother to Anthony, Benjamin, Edna, Abel, Amos. Foster mother to Bro. Dominic Olondo and Marion Ishaba. Sister to Harriet Jakait ,Victoria Ipomai, the late Moses Okiring’ and Hellen Kiyai. Sister in-law to Nichodemus Jakait, Tom Ipomai, Jane Terry, the late Pascalia Ajaa, Mary Oleket, the late Consolata lkweny, the late Rofina lmai, Goretti EMoit, David Emachar, the late Leonard Emojong and John ldewa. Cousin to Peter Barasa, the late David Etyang’, Fr. James Otaga, Fr. Frederick Odikor, among others. Aunty and a friend to many until her demise.

She was an employee of Xaverian Brothers (Bungoma) and previously worked with African Tours and Hotels Mai (Mombasa).

Friends and family are meeting daily in Nairobi, Ketebat and Kocholia villages for funeral arrangements.

A major fundraiser will be held on Thursday 16th Jan 2020 at St. Paul’s University Catholic Chapel at 5pm.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta Farewell Home on 22nd Jan 2020 for memorial service at St. Paul’s University Catholic Chapel at 8.00am and later leave for her home in Teso District on the same day.
