Waithaka Kioni

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the death of Waithaka Kioni, Second Vice President of NOCK (National Olympic Committee of Kenya), Vice President of CAVB (African Volleyball Confederation), President of KVF (Kenya Volleyball Federation), and formerly of Kenya Pipeline.

Waithaka was the son of the late Stephen and Jemimah Kioni.

Husband to Rosemary Wairimu. Father to Steve Kioni, Paul Mwangi, David Kahugu, and Jemimah Gikui. Grandfather to Nathan Mwangi, Branley Kahugu, Ella Wairimu, Jayson Kahugu, and Zoey Kioni. Father-in-law to Tina Kahugu.

Brother to George Kahugu, Kinya “Doc” Kioni (late), Mbaari Kioni, Thiong’o Kioni (late), Njahira Kioni (US), Mungai Kioni (late), Wanjiru Kenyanjui (late), and Wanjiru Mwaniki (US).

Brother-in-law to Gathoni Kahugu, Emma Doc, Kinyanjui Mwaniki (US), Wanjihia (late), Oss (late), Jimmy (late), Njau, Kim, Mike, Shee (late), Maggie, Serero, Nyambura, Bosco, Beattie, Ben (late), and Scola.

Beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to very many.

Friends and family are meeting daily at Roasters Inn (Virgo Hall), Thika Road, at 5:30pm until and including Tuesday, 18th April, 2023.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Wednesday, 9th April, 2023 at 8:00am. The Funeral Mass will be held at Kiamwangi Primary School at 11:00am, followed by interment at the family home in Kiamwangi, Gatundu South.
