It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of WO 1 (Rtd) Simon Mwanzia Kyongi, which took place on 9th March, 2023 after a short illness bravely borne.

Son of the late Lydia Ndunge and Jeremiah Kyongi Mutungu.

Loving husband to the late Priscillah Mutunge. Father to the late Salome Mwikali, Joel Nthei, Joshua Muthini, Isaac Mutua, Paul Mull, Mary Kavuu & Isaiah Meko.

Father-in-law to Purity Mueni, Irene Wambui, Felister Ndumi, Difna Mumbua, Esther Wanjiku & Geoffrey Mutuku.

Grandfather to Tonny, Norah, Diana, Natasha, Stephen, Robert, Jeremy, Desmond, Jayden, Karen, Shawn, Jethro, Shillah, Samuel Kavila, Priscilla, Samuel Mwanzia & Daisy.

Brother to the late Kiswili, Josephat Mutune, & Mbuvi, Grace Mbatha, Grace Nthenya, Beatrice Ndulu & Rhoda Mutio.

He leaves behind many relatives and friends both in Mwala and Nairobi, who firmly stood with him till his last day.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home on 18th March, 2023 at 7.00am for funeral service at Salvation Army – Mwala Citadel and later burial will be held at his home in Itumbini Village, Makutano Location, Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County.
