Zakayo Nyamai Mbevi

It is with profound sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of our beloved patriarch, Zakayo Nyamai Mbevi who passed on at the Kenyatta University Hospital, on the 5th of May, 2023.

Son of the late Mwalimu John Mbevi and the late Phoebe Kalunde Mbevi. Step-son to Esther Mbenge Mbevi.

Beloved husband of Esther Mueni Mbevi and father to the Michael Mbevi, Timothy Mutinda Mbevi, Patience Ndanu, Joseph Godwin Kinyamasyo Mbevi & Abedi Mumo Mbevi.

Brother to the late Paul Musau, James Muema, the late Grace Muvoye, Dorothy Ndindi, Beatrice Musyawa, Serah Wambua, William Ng’enda, David Sila, Jonah Kyalo, Ruth Mativo, Elizabeth Nyamai, Florence Muindi, Rose Mutua, Justus Makau, Francis Mwanzia, Juliana Mukeku, Simon Musyoka, Wayua Kimaru and Julius Ndivo.

He was Father-in-law to Rebecca Manthe, Walter Otieno, Jeanette Nkatha and Joy Mumo, he was a grandfather to Pam Mbevi, Asante Mbevi, Morgan Nyamai Mutindi, Austine Mwendwa Mutinda, Akweh Otieno, Herah Otieno, Baraka Mui Kinyamasyo, Amani Mueni Kinyamasyo and Shani Amani Kambua Mumo.

Zakayo was brother- in law to Emma, Lydia, Salome, Jacob, the late Christopher, the late Joseph, Henry K, Catherine, Pauline, Annie, the late Robert, Henry, Festus, the late Joseph, Jackline, Dan, Sophie, Samuel and Esther.

Son-in-law to Simon, Alice and Rose Kivindyo. Brother-in-Law to Ndeto, Kavuu, Mwikali, Musyoki, Mutunga, Muithya, Wandia, Mutisya and Wambua. He was Uncle, Cousin, and Friend to many.

Funeral meetings are being held daily at both his home in Kyau, Makueni County and the old sanctuary of the Nairobi Baptist church from 6:00pm.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home, Machakos on Wednesday the 17th of May 2023 at 7:00am for Kyau in Kaiti Sub-county, Makueni for a funeral service at ACK Kyau at 10:00am and thereafter burial in his home.
